Thanksgiving!!

Well, thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite holidays!!! For starters it is a time when family and friends get together just to celebrate being thankful!! I love spending time with family and watching everyone play games and just hang out with each other! The BEST part of the whole day for me is the cooking part to be followed by the eating part!!
I have to say for the dinner I do go to extremes! I have a menu go to each person in the house and they write down everything that they want to eat for thanksgiving dinner. I sometimes have to add things but this year was not that way. The list of food that was prepared is as follows
Turkey
Ham
Rolls
Relish Tray
Candied Yams
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes
Yummy Potatoes
Jellied Cranberry Sauce (out of a can)
Caesar Salad
Corn
Green Beans
Stuffing (stove top)
Turkey Gravy and Giblet Gravy (for Kevin)
Deviled Eggs

Then we had desserts and they are as follows Vanilla Ice Cream and whipped cream available)
Pecan Pie
Apple Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Cheesecake
Chocolate Cream Pie
Brownies (my addictive one's!!)

My plan is to have left overs for about 3 days so that for three days. I think I got it!!!

My cooking for the meal started the day before. I prepared the yummy potatoes so they could sit over night in the fridge as well as the potato salad for the same reason. I had to start the turkey at 12:30am on Thursday since it was almost 30 pounds and I slow cook them. I went down to bast it the first time and when I removed the foil, along the bone it had split and the meat was falling away from it. I was so mad, I thought the turkey was ruined and would be horribly dry!! I don't know about anyone else but I HATE dry turkey!! I decided that I would treat it the same as if it was a normal cooking turkey and did the normal basting every 30 to 45 minuets keeping it covered in foil until the last 30 Min's. In the end it was fabulous and unless you saw it would not have known my fear of what it would be like!!! I had no faith in myself but I guess this should teach me a lesson!!!

I had an entire schedule done to tell me what time I needed to start each thing to have everything ready (and still hot) at 3:00pm when we were planning on eating. I missed my mark by only 40 Min's.!!! I miss read the time for the giblet gravy so it was finished after we had eaten dinner. Kevin is looking forward to it today though!!! The other thing that held me up was the use of ovens!! I decided I need another set of double wall ovens, if anyone just wants to donate to a good cause!!! Even though we ate a little later than expected, everything was still wonderful and there were no complaints (at least not to my face!!)

After eating Kevin and I went over to Vernal to Kmart and Wal Mart to do some Christmas shopping and I am excited to say that we have almost completely finished our shopping!!! There are a total of 6 more gifts left to buy!!!! A couple of them are somewhat expensive but all in all I am impressed since we got almost everything so far and haven't even come close to our budget amount!!! I wish we were closer to Christmas now though because I am sooo excited to give the kids the gifts!!

Twilight!!

Well, I have to say that I myself have not yet read the Twilight books as of this moment but Ashley has read them all and loved them!!! She was so excited when she heard the movie was coming out for Twilight and started the countdown on the days til in theaters! Well as the day approached she was told that tickets were sold out for the first night, weeks in advance! I think that devastated her thinking that she would have to wait for a long time to get to see the movie.

Last night we (Kevin, Adrian, Ashley, Samuel, David, and myself) all loaded up into the truck after dinner and drove to Roosevelt to see the movie!!! I had called the theater earlier on in the day and was told what time to get there to guarantee a ticket, we left the house almost 3 hours before the movie was to start!!! Ashley was not in on it at all, everyone else in the truck knew about what we were going to do. We all told Ashley that we were going to McDonald's for an ice cream sundae, and she bought it!!! When we got there I stopped at the ATM across the street from the theater and had Ashley come with me. She still had no ides all the way up until I told her not to get back into the truck but instead walk across the street with me to buy the tickets!! As we were walking she said she could skip!!!

Well, as it turned out we were still to early to buy the tickets so we did get the ice cream sundaes while we were waiting. We were given stickers to show that we were in line for the tickets before they were actually on sale, this way it guaranteed we would get tickets!!

Finally the tickets were on sale and we bought them, you should have seen the excitement on Ashley's face!! I forgot my camera or I would have taken a picture of it!! We still had about an hour wait after the tickets were purchased, that part was real boring!!! David bought a hat for 10 dollars that said Twilight Girl on it and then tried to shape it to make it look more manly!! That was kind of funny! The show before us emptied and it was amazing the number of people that poured out of the theater!! It is just a small one so it just seemed like we were breaking the fire code!! We were able to get good seats since we were the first one's in the line so that makes any movie that much better. Having not read the book I am not aware of all the things that happened that they did not put in the movie, but according to Ashley, "the movie makes the buck look like a pamphlet!" I guess I will have to read the books now!! The movie was good so for anyone that is into the book, you should go see the movie (if you haven't already!)

My Birthday Latch Hook!!

Well my birthday was back almost a month ago and from mom for my gift she sent me a new latch hook!!! Well this one is one of the bigger one's so I was expecting it to take a long time to do. About the time that I received it in the mail is when Kayleigh was admitted to the hospital so I worked on it quite a bit to try to keep my mind occupied. I finished this one in just over a week!!! As I was working on it I found that there was a mistake with the coloring on the canvas so for the most of it I was looking at the box guessing how many lines of each color. As you look at the pictures you might be able to see what I am talking about, in some places it looks crooked!! I want to give fair warning, some of the pictures went sideways. My camera has gone stupid on me and every other picture (no matter what the setting is on it) takes it sideways.

Well, enjoy the pictures, I think it looks cool how they are taken. I took the picture at the beginning of each time I worked on it.

I did alot the first day!! I have already reached the glitch on the canvas at this point. Can anyone tell??

And of course the finished project has to be looked at from a sideways angle. sorry. Other than a stiff neck from looking at the pictures, what did you think??
I know this picture from somewhere, it is very familiar and I can't figure out why and where I saw it. If there is anyone that can solve this mystery for me, please do!!!

Snow Came Back!!

So today, snow the dog came into the house and strait to the water dish!! She is skinny and dehydrated but is alive!!! She drank almost an entire bowl of water before she even took a breath!!

We are glad to have her back!!

Snow is Lost

Nathan has a dog named Snow. She has been around here at the house for almost a year, even before Nathan moved out here. Wednesday night was the last time that anyone saw her. right after dinner. We have been out looking for her but have not found anything that would indicate that she was anywhere in the area, alive or dead. I think that she got stolen by someone that was driving by at some point or possibly found herself confronted by a hungry animal and as sad as it is to say, she could have lost the fight.
Hopefully she will find herself OK where she is and will eventually find her way back to the house. David and myself both had dreams that she was shot by Jeff, don't think it to be true but anything is possible. Dad thinks that she may also have barked one to many times at some cows and they kicked her severely. For anyone who has ever lost a dog, you know how it feels to not have them around anymore. We will let anyone who wants to know anything as we find out more.

HALLOWEEN!!

Well, my kids are to old to go and do the trick or treating thing but not to old to get scared!! Adrian unfortunately had to work so he was not able to come to the Haunted Woods with us, he was missed! It was Kevin, Ashley, Samuel, and Myself that went and both Ashley and myself did some screaming!! There was alto of clowns so Ashley was scared allot by them!! After we went to the haunted Woods, we picked Adrian up from work and then went home and Ashley, Adrian, Kevin, and myself all watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show!! I warned them before we started watching that is was a strange movie and that live showing is much better than just watching it but I think they enjoyed it OK!

Not to much beyond that is what our day was !!

More Stuff!!

So I didn't mention it on the birthday blog but I got sung to at the chuckaramma while we were eating, that was fun! I got a store bought cake that tastes like a cherry chocolate. It is white cake with pink and chocolate poured over the top, it is good!!

Adrian will not leave until June 10Th because he had to change the job that he is doing. They discovered his color blindness and so has a desk job, he doesn't know what he will be doing even. I am proud of him and hope he does well!!

On the way to salt lake I spoke to Melissa for a few Min's when she called to wish me a happy birthday, that was nice.

The whole day I had been trying to get the results of the blood test that I had gotten done on Monday and kept getting the machine. I was getting frustrated about the time the nurse called me to tell me the results. She said that the levels of fertility for me were high enough that it could be possible that I could conceive this month but if I don't then we will double the dose of the fertility drug with my next cycle because they said that the levels could stand to be higher!! I am hoping that this month is the winner but if not at least I know that my Dr. is on top of things with a plan for me to get pregnant!!!

Ashley got the results back from her first test taken since her and I started working together on her work more together as well as studying for the tests together. Well, I am happy to say that she did very well getting a score of an 80!!! She was very excited to show me but what is more important to me is that when she took the test she felt good about it, before seeing the results!! She hasn't ever felt that she did good on a test right after she has taken it!! I guess my way seems to be working for her!! Her grade in biology has gone from the 50's to a 66 and her grade in English has even gone up a little bit to be a 68!! She is doing good and we are very proud of her!!
