My Dr. Appointment!!

So I had my doctor appointment today and it went as follows!

I had a test done to make sure I didn't have strep or something like like that, I was weighed in and was told that since last week I actually lost 2 pounds! I went and gave the urine sample that I am asked for each time and found that by doing that the 2 pounds went to 3 pounds, I am not counting that other pound though!! Dr. Nolte checked the size of my belly to find that it is still small and he listened to the heartbeat! She has a very strong heart!!

We then talked about scheduling a c-section since the placenta is NOT moving! As of this very moment it is penciled in to have it on Friday the 13th of November. I told Mom the date and she said it has to change, no way can she be born of Friday the 13th!! I will be changing the date from the 13th to the 16th on Monday when I see my doctor again. That is exactly 3 weeks from today!!! I will still get to attend my baby shower that is set for the 14th while still being pregnant!

I went to the hospital when finished with the doctors office to have the non stress test done. I was connected to the monitors and after about 15 minutes I was sent to the radiology to have the ultrasound done. Today they went ahead and did measurement to see her estimated size. Adrian was there with me today so he got to see her and hear her heartbeat while I was on the monitors! She is guesstimated by her measurements to be weighing in at 4lbs 12oz. Still small but at least she gained a little over a pound in the last month and a half or so since she was last measured! I was on the monitors again when I left radiology and they were concerned since she was not moving. I decided that it was just her nap time. As soon as they let me go home she went crazy with her movements!! Adrian found the movie the shining on the tv and was watching it. For those that don't know, that is a horror movie. Every time it got to a scary part, Rebecca's heartbeat started getting louder and faster! Adrian asked if he should find some cartoons!!

I still have to continue going for the non stress tests twice a week. So long as nothing changes between now and the 16th then we will be set for that date. I will be the first of all the family members to have the c-section done! Not my planned way of giving birth but it is what it is!! By her being born on the 16th, Adrian will be here for it! He will stay the night at the hospital with me and then someone will pick him up the following day to take him to the airport and send him on his way! I am sad that I can't see him off at the airport but it will be awesome that he can be here for the birth!

I like this post! I will get the pictures posted hopefully tomorrow or the next day of Ashley's picture of her hair cut and my baby bump. I will also have a picture posted of Adrian in his dress uniform!! That is what he wore to church on Sunday!

Stuff

Adrian is coming home!!! He will be home in less than one week! On the 22ND of this month (that is 5 days from today if your not counting!) he will be getting off a plane in Salt Lake City! We will get to have him here for 26 days so that is going to be awesome!!! I will have to wait until about 9pm on the 22ND for him to get off that plane but anticipation sometimes makes things even better! It will be like waiting for Christmas morning only I know what Santa is bringing for me!!

While Adrian is here we will be having a thanksgiving meal. He won't be here for the actual day of Thanksgiving and since we won't see him for at least a year after this visit since he will be stationed in Germany I thought we should have this meal together early. the actual day of thanksgiving is close to the baby deliver also and I was not sure that I would be up to making a big meal at that point even if Adrian's visit would have allowed him to be here for it. I am also super excited because not only will Adrian be here but we will also have mom here for it and Andrew, Marni and the kids are going to come out and join us!! Who needs a specific day to celebrate being together as a family?!?!

Ashley got a hair cut! I will have to get a picture taken and post it when I get a picture of my baby bump in a couple of days so everyone can see. I like the haircut on her, she made a good choice. I have only one rule when it comes to the hair styles that the kids choose, I have to be able to see eyes, nose, and mouth. No hair in the face. I suggested that Ashley have the bangs cut a little bit shorter in the future since they are already falling into her eyes at the length they are now. I don't think that she was happy with my suggestion but the way I see it, her hair grows fast enough that she will be getting her bangs cut every week if she doesn't!
She seems to like her job thus far and her boss told her to tell me thank you for teaching her how to organize and clean up so well, her first day by herself and she left everything perfect. I wonder what they did to get her to do it perfect, it would be nice to have it that way here!! I do worry about the grades in school though, as I have said before, the grades are more important than her having a job at this point. I wish that she would have waited until closer to the end of the year or summer to get a job, she could have been able to see what her classes were going to be like by waiting and know how difficult they would be for her. She has Algebra 2 this year as well as Chemistry and those are the one's that she is finding herself already struggling with. Those classes come easy to some and not so much for others, she is the not so much right now. I have suggested that she do the tutorials for the extra help but she has not really taken me up on suggestions so much. If the grades fall and she is not doing the tutorials to get the help she has been told that she will not be allowed to keep the job. I would hate to make her quit the job that can maybe help her come out of her shell and not be so shy with those that she doesn't know but I also can't stand by and watch her fail in her school work. She agreed to the rules when she went looking for a job so she is aware of what would happen if she doesn't stay focused on her school work!

I went to my non stress test this past Thursday and was expecting the normal thing to happen of being attached to monitors for about 45 minutes and having my ultrasound then going home. This was not at all the case! I got attached to the monitors for about 10 minutes and then the radiology department was ready for me. I went down and the fluids were measured and then I went back to the OB department to finish being attached to the monitors. About an hour later one of the nurses came in asking me if I was feeling contractions. I was not feeling them but since there was apparently a lot of them they wanted me to stay longer and they were calling Dr. Nolte. Who wouldn't be worried at this point? About 20 minutes after that another nurse (she was training so knew nothing) came in and asked me for a urine sample. She only was doing what she was told so she didn't know what it was for. After giving them the sample I was once again put on the monitors. The nurse that had came in asking me about the contractions came back in about 30 minutes later and said that they were testing me for bladder infection because that can cause the contractions. Who knew?!? I was complaining to mom about off and on pains that I was feeling in my belly that I was taking as a soar muscle feeling and that is what was actually the contractions! After being left on the monitors for a very long time a knock on the door happened and in walked Dr. Nolte. Who wouldn't be a little nervous to see the actual Dr. walk into the room after all that was being said?!? He said that baby looks good and fluid levels are wonderful! I was also told that I did have a bladder infection so I was given a prescription for it. While he was there I asked him what the guesstimated weight was for Rebecca since he said that she was barely to small when I had the measurements done 3 weeks earlier on her. Her weight based on the measurements was just over 3 pounds and the average should be around 5. I am hoping that in the last month that I am entering into now, she will gain some or maybe they are just wrong! Oh and the placenta is still in the way so a c-section is almost the guarantee of what the delivery will be. The positive thing about that is that no one else in the family has had one, so I get to be the first for giving birth that way!! Only one person will be allowed in the room for the c-section but I was told that mom will be allowed at the door and will have a good view of the delivery so she will see as much that way as she would being in the room! That is better than her not getting to see her born at all!

That is all that is new with the Rushing family for now!!

What Is New

So there are some new things around this house! First thing is Dad is remodeling again and has torn out the wall that separated the old bathroom and his bedroom. He has now moved on to the floor so we can see down under the house! The end result will be nice I am sure, I am just not a fan of the construction process! There is a nice sized jacuzzi tub that will be going into this new bathroom so that will be exciting!

Nothing new with Jonathan other than he got some new wells that sometimes cause him to have to work overtime so he is complaining!

Nathan is still looking for work but having no luck in finding anything. He is eating! He does work for Jonathan and Dad since he can't find a regular job on day's when he is here, other day's he is spending time with friends.

David moved back in a few day's ago. Dad got a cell phone booster so he can talk to Miranda on the phone! he was also getting tired of living down at Dax's house. He is eating good now. I heard him on the phone saying that there was never any food at Dax's house but here there is always food!! At least he will enjoy something about being here since the booster is not yet working!

Samuel is going to school, not working though. He will do the things that is asked of him to do, mostly if it involves tearing apart things!! He is having to bring in coal again since it has gotten cold here and he takes the trash out for me since I can't lift it! He has started as of today going to a missionary prep class before school. It is every Tuesday.

Ashley got a job!! She is been training at Hot Stuff down town for the last 3 days. Today will be her last day of training. If you are not aware, this is the same place that Adrian was working at before going into the Army. He made the call to his old boss there and put in a good word for Ashley. She is liking it thus far but then training isn't the hard part!! I only have one rule and that is that she can not allow her grades to drop. Her education is far more important that a part time job and in my opinion, when in high school, a job is a privilege. She will mostly be working only on the weekends unless someone calls in sick and there is no other person that can work. Donna (the boss) is in agreement with me about the grade thing and she remembers that I had the same rule with Adrian! She is a nice lady! Ashley will start back to seeing a counselor soon over in Price, she needs someone to talk to about her issues and does not trust that me as a parent will work. I think that she feels that she will be judged even though I have said that is not what I am here for. Whatever the best thing is for her is what I want so if that is not talking to me then so be it!

Adrian will be home soon!! He will be graduating from his job training on the 22ND of this month and should be flying home that same day! He hasn't given the exact date of his arrival yet, just what his guesstimate is!! When he gets here he will be staying for 26 to 28 days before he is shipped off to Germany. He is not sure how long he will be there but is assuming it will be at least a year. He has taken all the leave he has built up and that is why he will have the length of time home that he will. He decided to do it that way so that he can be here when Rebecca is born. I was on the phone with him the other day and he had me get a paper and pen. What he was doing was giving me the list of food items he wants prepare for him when he comes home! He is missing my food and calls at dinner time just to see what we had as apposed to what he had. He usually says that we suck!

And then there is Kevin and I. We had our first day of therapy yesterday in Price. Some of it went OK. Kevin had complaints that until I explained my side of she was concerned about. In the end he was told that some of the things that he was complaining about were things that he shouldn't be worried about because they don't concern him even. He was also told that he was very wrong in the way that he treats Ashley. He did not want to hear that at all and was a little bit argumentative with her about it. As far as the issues that I am having with thing's, we did not make it to any of those. Kevin doesn't want to go back but said that he will if she thinks that it would help things. We have another session set for the 19Th of this month. I think he expected it to all be fixed in one session and then it was done. The way things are with us now, it will take many many sessions just to express the problems and then many more to reach compromises. I guess we will see how things go.
I went to two of the non stress tests over at the hospital thus far. My next one is set for Thursday. As of right now things are good. Rebecca moves good and the fluid levels are very good so I have been released each time. I am hoping that she is just a small baby and that we can get as close to term as possible! A positive to having to go over twice a week is that I get an ultrasound done each time so I get to see her! One bad thing is that the placenta is still down so we are still looking at a c-section. I am not happy about that but I guess it is what it is. Oh and I also have discovered that I am getting stretch marks on my belly button! That is not cool but I guess it means that my belly is growing so that could be a good sign!

That is all that is new. I will continue to keep everyone posted!

Happy Birthday Andrew

So today is the day that Andrew is getting older!! I have exactly 4 weeks left to go before I am older!! His birthday is always my counting down start!

I hope you get a great party from the kids and Marni with all the special things that make it fun to have a birthday as a parent!

Happy birthday Andrew!
