I tried to post a picture of the baby on here but will have to get it done later. For some reason the computer is having problems bringing it over to the blog. I will have dad look at it when he gets home and see if we can't get it posted, it is sooo cute!!
I went to the Dr.'s office yesterday morning and had to wait a little bit over an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see Dr. Nolte because he had to deliver a baby! Kevin got frustrated about having to wait but in my opinion, some day it will be me that is causing the delay for all others so I can deal with it!! When it was time to see him David and Kevin came back to the room with me and after him talking to me we had to wait about 15 more minuets in the room for the sonogram to be done ( that was a long 15 minuets!) I had to have the Dr. look at a spider bite that I got on my neck a couple days ago and he said that it looked like it was a small spider that bit me and since there was not tissue breaking down around the bite it should be fine. If however the bite got larger or infected I was to return immediately!
After waiting in the room for what seemed like forever we were called back to the other room and then the baby was on the screen!! He said it still is showing a strong heartbeat so that is a very good thing!! Kevin said it looked like it has webbed hands, I think it was adorable and completely amazing that it is inside me!! I almost cried but was to excited about see that everything was OK to make it to that point!!
My next appointment will be on June 1st so mom will get to be there for it as well as Adrian and Ashley (since school will be out by that time!) Kevin will also be there for it as it is again on a Monday and that is his days off. He never got to do the appointment thing with either Adrian or Ashley as his ex wife never went to a doctor at all during either pregnancy. i find that sad as well as dangerous that she made that decision. I was sent over to the hospital yesterday after my appointment for blood work and boy did they take some blood!! 5 of those vile things full of it! I was told that was normal but still, that is a large amount in my opinion. I was also informed that future blood work would be 1 or 2 at a time instead of 5 so that is nice to hear!!
Well that is all the info that I have for now!! I will keep you posted as things get bigger!!

I think I've been to appointments when they needed more than five vials...but yes, after that initial massive quantity that they take early on, it is less for the rest of the pregnancy. I used to freak out about it and need Mike to come with me and I was a drama queen about my wounds all day, but four pregnancies has cured that! It's all just a matter of course now. I think birth "cures" a lot of things, including all sense of embarrassment or modesty particularly in the hospital!
That is awesome that things are going so well. I'm very excited for you!
So is June 1 the big day you can find out the gender?
I don't know if June is the day that we will find out or not. If he say's do I want to know at that time I guess that means it is the day!! I am not sure how far along I have to be for it to be known and at the June appointment I will be just over three months.
Okay, I look more pregnant than you do right now. And judging by your "bump", I will continue to look more pregnant than you for a good while to come!
I'm glad everything is going so well. That is always so reassuring to see those ultrasounds that let you know there really is a baby in there. Especially in those early months before you feel any movement.
I'm guessing if you'll only be 3 months along at your next ultrasound, it may be too early to see the sex, but maybe not depending on the type of ultrasound you get. Do they do the 3 or 4D ones or just the typical?
I always dreaded the bloodwork too, but like Alison, after the first couple of pregnancies, it just became another routine thing. My least favorite was the gestational diabetes screen they do around 6 months where you have to drink this really syrupy soda stuff. Even that wasn't so bad the last couple of times because someone figured out that it tastes better if it is refrigerated beforehand. Drinking it warm it was all I could do to keep it down!
Amy, I'm actually looking forward to the glucose test this time...not only do I not mind the drink too much, but that gives me an uninterrupted hour of peace to read or just sit in the waiting room! It's funny how once you have 3 little ones an hour long blood test is something to look forward to!
Susannah, I think 16 weeks or so is the earliest I've heard of someone finding out the gender so I guess you'll probably have to wait a while longer. I keep forgetting how CLOSE June is already!
Amy, they do the the typical as well as the 3d ultrasounds. Also, having them draw my blood each month for the levels of my fertility, I got used to the blood getting taken. I was just in shock that they wanted that much blood in one shot!!
Alison, I don't mind waiting on the sex of the baby. We haven't fully decided if we are going to find out or not. I guess if we haven't decided for sure at the time when he say's to me do I want to know, the decision will be whatever words come out of my mouth!! The preparation is the only thing that knowing for me would be good for. It is kind of like getting a gift, you don't know til you open it!! We might snoop though!
