As most of you know I tried to have the ultrasound before my trip to Kentucky. The baby was not having any part of that and decided that the legs would be crossed and bottom down!!! Very frustrating! Dad said that it was a girl then because the boys want to show everything to the world! I had a regular doctor appointment on Monday and we tried to see then also. This baby was still having nothing to do with that idea! Again the legs were crossed and every time my doctor tried to change positions to look at it from a different angle the baby moved the same way!! Stubborn little thing! As of yesterday I had the actual ultrasound in the hospital and fortunately the lady doing it was able to get a shot!! Above is a picture of the baby's arm, I was getting waved at! This is actually a common thing, every time i have had a "picture" taken of the baby I have gotten waved at! At least we have a friendly baby coming! It almost looks like in the picture that we are getting a muscle shot! I saw the moving version that is why I know it was a wave!!
Below is a picture of the sex of this wonderful child! Can anyone guess what they are seeing??
Well, because it says it on the picture you can tell it is a baby girl!!! I cried when i saw it! I have felt like it was a girl from the very beginning, even before we told anyone (except mom) that we were going to have a baby! Kevin has insisted that it was a boy the entire time and still thinks that the woman made a mistake. He said he is right and that is all there is to that! The lady doing the ultrasound checked twice just to make sure and both times she said there was no doubt that this was in fact a baby girl! It was hard to get some of the shots of this little girl, she was moving around like crazy! I had a little bit of soda on the way over to the appointment to make sure that we would get movement and not have legs crossed again! I guess 4oz of soda was a little to much for this one! She was bouncing off the walls, so to speak!!Below we have a picture of the other arm! This one is cute, she is making a fist!! I don't think she liked the fact that I got to see that she was a girl! She didn't want to let us see it either time that we did and this was what we got as soon as we saw it the second time!! I guess I will have a modest little girl!!
She weighs n at just over 1lb at this moment but all of her measurements were right where they needed to be! She has all the parts that she needs from the kydney and liver to the heart that is beating strong!! We were going to name the baby originally, if it was a girl, Rebecca Elizabeth. After the passing of Grandma Bloodworth I decided that her middle name fit much nicer and would be a wonderful choice! We will be naming this little girl Rebecca Jean Rushing. Kevin has been saying this whole time that he didn't care what the name was and I was set on the Rebecca since the beginning. As of yesterday he decided that he wanted to be the one to name it. Can't find anything wrong with this name and has no ideas of his own either. I basically told him that he has had two children that he named and it is my turn! He is still mad about it being a girl is what his problem is with it! When he would say he didn't care he thought it was going to be a boy and even with that was OK with the name that I wanted!! Men, sometimes they are on my nerves!! It is sad but the reason that he said that he did not want a girl is because he didn't want another Ashley! That is infuriating to me and I told him that most of the issues that Ashley has that he does not like so much are because of him or identical to some of his actions. He didn't like that to much but the truth can hurt sometimes!! I personally think Ashley is a wonderful girl and as we continue with her therapy she gets better and better!

Congratulations! I know how much you wanted a girl. The ultrasound pictures are SO cute! And, I love the name Rebecca Jean. Very, very cute. I'm sure Kevin will come around. A lot of it is just bluster, I'm sure.
I also think Ashley is a wonderful girl. I liked her so much the moment I met her and I am just so impressed with her. Not too many girls would be willing to give up such a big chunk of their summer to head off to Kentucky and help out like that. If this baby is "another Ashley" well, you can just consider yourself blessed.
Congrats!!
I remember crying when i saw that Madison was a girl... i wanted one SO bad!
Im so happy for you i know that is what you want :)
Nick was a little disappointed that it was a girl at first, but now you would never guess...he is wrapped around her finger.
Im so excited to see her!!
Yay! I am so happy for you and I too love the name Rebecca Jean. Will you calle her Becky or Becca or will you stick to the full name?
And amen to what Alison said about Ashley. We love her more and more everytime we get to see her.
Congrats! That's exciting to finally know, huh?
I'm glad you can feel her kicking. That is my favorite part of being pregnant. :) Does Kevin love to feel her move? Andrew was always excited to be able to feel our kids kicking, especially for the first time.
Hope you're feeling great! Congrats again!
Marni,
Kevin has not felt her move and at this point he is upset that she is a girl and does not want to. I guess i enjoy it enough for the both of us though!
It is really awful that he is going to pout about that. He will miss everything. I am happy for you! I really like the name too! It is really nice when you can honor the people you love by passing on their names to your children!
