I Love To See The Temple

So the other day Adrian decided to inform me that we should take a drive out to Salt Lake to go to Temple Square since he had never seen it before in person. Since we were going out to see Marni and the kids yesterday we decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to do so! The above picture was taken of the mirror pool. I think it is awesome the way that the temple looks in the reflection!!

You can see that there are a couple of people in the bottom left of the picture above that had just gotten married and was taking pictures!! So sweet!!

And then here is another view of the temple! With the storm clouds above it, it is even more beautiful!!

Here is another picture of the temple showing the angel!! I think they are all amazing! I would have posted a blog that was about 5 pages long if I would have posted all the pictures of the temple that Adrian had taken! He was snapping pictures of everything that he saw, he was amazed at how incredible everything was!

Below is Mom, Timothy, and Adrian in front of the doors on the Temple! They look so small compared to them!!

Below is Adrian and myself in front of the same doors! Adrian alone makes me look small!!

This picture that is above we are thinking is the Temple Annex Building! Not totally sure what it is from the angle that it is taken, I asked Timothy and he thinks that also!

The following pictures are awesome to all of us and was very moving! As we were sitting listening to the scriptures in the voice of Jesus and looking up at the statue it was almost as if the statue was a real person talking to me! It was very awesome to have experienced that feeling and would have loved to sit there for hours listening to the words over and over again!

Adrian took most of the pictures of the statues! I think he found it to be the best part!

Here we all are in front of Jesus and it felt awesome!

Below is the model of Jerusalem and if anyone has never seen it, it is amazing that anyone was able to find anything around there! Even now, it would be hard to do. They had a picture of the modern city and it looks just as compact, just with bigger buildings and paved roads!! It goes through a series of pictures talking about different things that took place there with Jesus and a little light shows the actual location of activity! Do you know how far out of the city Jesus actually had to go to be crucified?? It is not even on the picture below!!! That would have been a horrible thing to have to carry it any distance but the distance that he had to go was amazing! It is no wonder that he was not able to make it all the way!

So below is the pictures of the inside of the Tabernacle. It was so awesome to walk inside and hear the acoustics! There was a sister missionary that was at the podium and ripped up a newspaper and dropped a couple of strait pins. We were more than half way back in the room and heard them as if we were standing there next to her! She demonstrated how even if her back was turned to us we could still hear the same as when she was facing us! Was very cool!

The size difference is crazy also in comparison to the conference center and the tabernacle! This is the only view that Adrian got and it is blurry, sorry! It was very awesome to see the inside of this building and learn how there was not a single nail that went into building it since it would mess with the acoustics! I know I keep saying awesome allot, but I can't help it, it is!!

Below is the fountain outside the conference center! It was raining so we were not able to go to the roof! We didn't have much time to take the whole tour here but was able to get a few pictures and learn a little bit about it.

This is from the very bottom outside the main meeting room looking up! The picture is good but no where close to being as amazing as seeing it in person! If you have ever seen it, you know what I am saying! If you have not ever seen it, you have to, you would be amazed!!

This is the stage that the choir sits on for conference and as you can see, it looks nothing like the way it does for conference! The pillars that you see under the seats have some sort of machine that blows air allowing them to lift so that one man is able to move the entire thing back!! They had a show over the weekend and had removed the organ and everything almost, all using the same machine with the air! The lady that was giving us the info said that most people don't get to see this part of it! We are so lucky!

The one above is pictures of the seats! Did you know this room holds 21,000 people? There is three times as many bathrooms for women as there are for men! Funny huh! I guess even the president didn't like waiting on his wife in the bathrooms as he insisted that it be built this way! We went into a bathroom and it was spotless!! It had 47 stalls and 31 sinks in it! That was just one bathroom, imagine cleaning them!! That would require an entire team of staffers to accomplish it in one day!

Below is the ceiling! They had to ship it in in pieces being it was so large and then install it as they received it. They wanted to have no posts or anything that could block the view of people who had come to see the events taking place! The seats are off from each other also for the same reason! I was amazed at how big it truly is!

Well that is what i have posted for the time! We have several more pictures but it would have taken forever to post them all as well as for everyone to read about them! I hope you can see how much we enjoyed it! Oh and something that we obviously were not able to take pictures of was right after the picture with Jesus. We did a walk through movie about a family and different things that happened in their lives that showed them (and us) about families being together forever! I cried! To sum it all up, it was amazing and awesome!!

How fun! It has been years since I was on temple square--before they built the conference center. One of these days I need to go back. The Christus statue is one of my favorites too. And I love the picture of the temple reflected in the water. What an amazing place.

We did the lights on Temple Square a few years back and got to visit the Christus statue and a few other things, but haven't done the big tour in a very long time. That would be neat to take all the kids to. I'm glad you guys had such an awesome time!

p.s. when is someone going to post about graduation? And didn't you have another ultrasound lately?

I have a few other posts that need to be done. I have graduation, baptism, day with Marni and the kids, and then the ultrasound. I have been having problems with getting pictures to post. I will try to have all of them done tomorrow. Just so you know we will find out the sex of the baby on the 29th of this month.
